Oil Mist Separator / Emulsion Separator for Aerosols
In the machining and forming processes in the metalworking industry, the use of cooling lubricants (CL) generates emissions in the form of aerosols, oil mist, fumes and vapors. These aerosols are potentially hazardous to health, cause damage to capital goods and often increase the fire load of the environment.
WALTER emulsion and oil mist separators are developed and designed for these high requirements. With our separators - whether as decentralized extraction or as central system - the emissions generated are safely captured and separated. The filtered coolants can be drained and returned to the machine's circuit. The robust separators enable trouble-free 24-hour continuous operation at constant air throughput.
Variants
The mechanical separators are available in several performance levels and can be installed as decentralized devices directly on machining centers or operated stationary:
- WL-ENA-02
- WL-ENA-R4
- WL-ENA-R6
Expansion Stages
The WL-ENA series emulsion separators are modularly designed and can thus be adapted to your needs. The extraction capacity of the fan is variably adjustable.

Applications
- Drilling, milling, turning
- Grinding, honing, broaching
- Sawing, reaming, thread cutting
- Deep drawing, pressing, stamping
- Machining centers using cooling lubricants
- Machine tools in 24-hour continuous operation
Health hazards and operating costs are minimized through the use of emulsion and oil mist separators.
Operating Principle
The emulsion and oil mist separators developed by WALTER work with mechanical separation.
A multi-stage (up to three stages) filter system is used.
The regenerable pre-separator, also called demister, filters chips and coarser particles from the incoming air and then guides the air uniformly to the filter elements. These consist of cartridges and achieve an exceptionally high separation efficiency (99%). The third filter stage (optional) is a post-filter (HEPA), which increases the separation efficiency to 99.95%.
Through the flexible modular design, both standardized and individually adapted filter sizes can be supplied.
The devices are extremely maintenance-friendly. The installation and removal of filter elements can be carried out simply and quickly through large maintenance doors.
